When it first opened in 1965 the
Prudential Tower was the tallest building in Boston,
standing a proud 52 stories tall.
Not only the tallest in Boston but the tallest outside of New York!
The Pru reigned as king for 11 years before the glistening show-off John Hancock sprouted up even taller.
I remember going up to the Skywalk as a kid and being able to see the entire city and more!
It was as much fun as going to the amusement park!
Office buildings, condos, apartment complexes and hotels are all a part of the Prudential Center.
The Center is a mini city in itself with a multitude of shops, restaurants.
It is consistently ranked as one of the top 5 shopping centers in the Untied States!
The likes of Lord and Taylor and Saks Fifth Avenue can be found in the Center, along with a Post Office that stays open until 7PM...click here for more!
