The North
Shore
I grew up on the North Shore and for some
reason, that I never understood, people from the North
Shore never liked or wanted to go to the South
Shore.
I still have quite a fondness for the North Shore, with it's rocky beaches and craggy landscape, not to mention the crazy, skinny windy steep roads in places like Marblehead...
In all honesty, I've only seen a small bit of the South Shore, and what I've seen is flat and boring...
I like to travel up the North Shore Coast following Route 1A.
There we we have a variety of beaches, most of them have both sand and rocky sections and also some interesting historical destinations.

Some of the highlights featured here along the Upper Coast of Massachusetts are Motif #1 in Rockport, Hammond Castle in Gloucester and Romantic Sunset Scenes on Crane's Beach in Ipswich.
